Job Description

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3 to 7 years in administration of ERP systems (AS400, IBM iSeries, Power7) (Epicor CMS Preferred)
  • Experience with ERP implementation, migrations and disaster recovery
  • Understanding of core business processes (accounting, financials, warehouse management, purchasing & sales orders)
  • Four-year degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related area of discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide administration for the Epicor CMS ERP System, (AS400, IBM iSeries, Power7), including management of manufacturing modules
  • Supervise the CMS Analyst, coordinating the CMS support workload
  • Monitor CMS ERP system applications and takes corrective action to prevent or minimize system down time
  • Provide ERP interface support for installed and supported RF Scanners and Barcode printers
  • Provide ERP interface support for connected solutions such as warehouse systems, customer portals, and other applications.
  • Create custom ERP reports
  • Engage with customers, and assess or audit processes, to determine end user requirements, and lead analysis of those requirements
  • Identify technical risks and work with the IT team to provide mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and proactively raise functional organizational issues and trends; recommend alternatives for improved effectiveness
  • Provide updates to the IT Director on the status of all ERP projects and plans
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the ERP system
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of the Epicor CMS ERP system and develop strategies to improve and further leverage the system
  • Escalate issues with Epicor and work together to mitigate the issues or define new required functionality
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert feedback to questions related to the ERP system
  • Work closely with Sales, Production Control and Materials Departments, for set-up and maintenance of all item/part information and testing of ERP system changes or upgrades with users and technical staff
  • Analyze processes within the IBM environment and make recommendations as required, ensuring data integrity for both data input and reporting capabilities
  • Train end users to operate new and modified programs within the ERP system
  • Maintain and coordinate the organization’s disaster recovery plan pertaining to the ERP system
  • Assist the Director of IT in managing vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate service levels and ensure IT compliance for Audits
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
  • General knowledge and ability to troubleshoot EDI transactions
  • Ability to be flexible and work analytically to solve problems
  • Ability to develop custom programs integrated with the core ERP code via RPGLE, CLLE, and Query400 also a plus
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments at once while maintaining project deadlines
  • Materials management experience preferred
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of any proprietary business-related information to which entrusted
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to be on call 24x7
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and listening communication skills
  • Occasional travel to US and Mexico locations
