SUMMARY

The Business Manager is responsible for managing their portfolio of business including: all activities within their unit, proactively fixing issues, prioritizing and ensuring the long-term sustainability and profitability, and effectively communicate with other company functions to ensure cost, function, quality, delivery and service expectations are met or exceeded.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver predictable profitable revenue growth by providing accurate forecasts in a timely manner, and hitting agreed revenue and margin targets for your Business.
  • Foster strong, loyal client relationships by giving both the Client and the execution team strategic direction as appropriate to ensure money spent with the company provides a worthy ROI.
  • Set appropriate standards with staff in terms of desired behaviors set clear boundaries around good and bad behavior.
  • Drive culture through events, kick-offs, company meetings, shadowing other meetings in the Customer areas.
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
  • Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
  • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
  • Maintain focus on initiated projects to gain additional benefits for the business area through gaining efficiencies in program (operational, design, purchasing, best practices)
  • To ensure project documents are created, maintained and updated via structure with the understanding that this is a mandatory requirement of all Program Managers. Auditing project docs regularly
  • Always follow Horizon Global management systems and QA routines to successfully achieve complete customer satisfaction
  • Follow up on the main timeline with milestones and project goals while suggesting best practice routines
  • Organize and prioritize time between the management of multiple projects
  • Drive the schedule to ensure passage of planned gates on time and in line with APQP milestone according to customer expectations
  • Actively report to direct manager and other program manager’s successes, areas for improvement and programs at risk in a timely manner to ensure corrective action.
  • Develop and execute short, medium, and long-term business plans that align with company objectives and priorities with minimum guidance.
  • Responsible for gross margin management in adherence to company targets.    
  • Educate customers on product and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop and lead customer presentations in the US and Canada.
  • Analyze and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements during RFQ phase with existing business.
  • Planning and coordination of the project deliverables with plant and the other Program Managers
  • Schedule all control and PPAP runs with the plant while maintaining any and all schedule adjustments as they arise
  • Maintain focus on initiated projects to gain additional benefits for the business area through gaining efficiencies in program (operational, design, purchasing, best practices)
