Job Description

SUMMARY

The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarter and year end close
  • Oversee general accounting functions
  • Maintain fixed asset register and monitor capital expenditure projects
  • Support annual budget process
  • Prepare monthly department spend variance analysis
  • Supervise and ensure efficient working of all financial transactions
  • Monitor all accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Collaborate with other department managers to support overall department goals
  • Review/approve journal entries and account reconciliations for accuracy
  • Assist in maintaining an effective control environment
  • Liaise with internal auditors for SOX compliance
  • Liaise with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Manage and maintain finance related applications
  • Supervise, coach, and develop General Accountant
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the organization
  • Support Corporate Controller with other adhoc projects and reports

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent number of years of experience plus 5-7 years of accounting experience
  • General ledger accounting experience required
  • Preferred (optional): CPA designation.
