Job Description


The Forecast Analyst is responsible for using current data of the company to predict future sales volumes to be utilized in the planning of the production and procurement of finished goods. The Forecast Analyst will analyze trends and collaborate with the sales team resulting in SKU level forecasts.



  • Research historical data to map trends and determine how they might influence the company.
  • Routinely examine methodologies to find ways of improving predictive accuracy.
  • Carry out the defined process to run a statistical forecast in Demand Solutions Forecast software, creating SKU level forecasts.
  • Analyze and review forecasts making adjustments to formulas and parameters if necessary.
  • Understand business climate to analyze forecasts, including seasonality, early order programs, etc.
  • Maintain forecast accuracy metrics and make formula adjustments as needed to achieve improvements.
  • Interface with sales and product management to collaborate on forecasts.
  • Communicate large forecast changes with buyer/planners to alert to possible procurement actions required.
  • Prepare data and chair monthly Demand Review meetings with sales/product management for forecast collaboration.
  • Participate in product life cycle management: from product initiation to phase out, attending Gate reviews, War Room updates, etc.
  • Utilize Business intelligence software to obtain detail historical data for analysis by customer
  • Other duties assigned as needed.



  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics or a related field.
  • Experience in forecasting required, (Demand Solutions forecast software experience preferred).
  • Intermediate MS Excel required.
  • Experience with Powerplay Cognos business intelligence software preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and communication skills are a must.
