Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working manager who effectively managing direct reports, providing guidance while empowering them to succeed.
  • Develop and direct the development of standard operating procedures and policies for graphic requests and graphics team.
  • Oversee the implementation and administration of all company polices as they relate to graphics.
  • Create and develop graphic guidelines and standard elements.
  • Develop and create inspiring graphic packaging to enhance company message and image.
  • Create and manage brand logo treatments in all aspects including adherence to brand DNA.
  • Manage all existing and new artwork for production as well as all printed materials.
  • Creation of illustrations, photography, and line art.
  • Manage outside printers, graphic archive files, photographers, and ad agencies as needed.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing to fulfill all mock-up and prototype needs.
  • Proofing of all artwork in preproduction stages, ensuring accuracy in copy and color.
  • Create printed collateral materials in support of all relevant products, packaging and displays.
  • Assist in the development of mock ups, signage, banners, and packaging for trade shows.
  • Communicate effectively with cross functional teams, manufacturing partners, photographers, advertising/PR, design agencies, other Horizon offices as needed.
  • Manage all aspects of graphics design within critical timelines of product development and major account requirements.
  • Display a positive, team building work attitude under pressure.
  • Take accountability and ownership of assigned projects while understanding schedules and budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BFA, BA in Graphic Design or related degree and/or experience, and 7 years design and production experience; industrial design experience is a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrate creativity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve creative problems and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • High level skill set in Adobe Creative Suite CC: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong conceptual skills and a strategic mindset with knowledge of Print Production, Photography, Color Proofing.
  • Must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task and to manage competing projects and deadlines.
  • Possess people skills to effectively, persuasively engage with team and internal management.
