Job Description

SUMMARY

The Inventory Control Manager plans and supervises all activities related to Cycle Counting and Inventory Analysis. Functions as CMS inventory subject matter expert.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Establish and assure execution of processes related to excellent inventory control
  • Assure proper reporting of inventory financial activities and root cause analysis of defects
  • Approve and execute routine inventory transactions
  • Analyze problems and develop solutions
  • Obtain supplies and consumables within normal processes
  • Execute daily transactions within area of responsibility. Monitors off site reporting to assure other locations are on schedule.
  • Drive quality and productivity by assessing errors, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing process change
  • Measure and report key metrics in area of responsibility; workloads, capacities, on-time performance, fill-rates, error rates, productivity, cycle counts, etc.
  • Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations towards employee development.
  • Assure employees follow SOP’s
  • Answer internal and external questions regarding DC execution of specific transactions using retained records
  • Work with distribution and corporate peers to develop improved systematic methods to process shipments to meet internal and customer requirements
  • Ensure a safe work environment through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability, identifying and addressing potential hazards
  • Assures all relevant documents are prepared and retained to Horizon Global standards to pass internal, external, and Sarbanes-Oxley audits
  • Functions as a member of the DC Manager’s staff and participates collegially with peers
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams
  • Assures timely and complete communication between shifts

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree or significant experience in Inventory/Distribution/Transportation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems inventory software, Sales Order Management, and/or ERP systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear.
  • Required to use computer, possess visual acuity essential to examine and prepare documents.
  • Be able to perform job duties in both an office and a warehouse environment.#DNP
