Job Description

SUMMARY

This candidate will be responsible for plant/corporate level costs and control including cost accounting, bill of material audits, cost analysis and special projects as requested. This position will work closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact financial results as well as educate/inform departments on cost drivers and variances.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Analyzes quote packages and develops costing on products or components contained within the customer RFQ. Works closely with program manager, design engineer, manufacturing engineer and purchasing personnel to establish required cost data.
  • Interacts with document control to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Review and audit BOM’s to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices.
  • Verifies made-in-house component quote and sourced part data accuracy and finalizes quote packages.
  • Supports and justifies cost/pricing structure to the customer under the direction of the sales department. Support sales representative fill out RFQ forms.
  • Develops cost reduction target and tracking YTD achievement. Host monthly VA/VE meeting, contributes to VA/VE initiatives.
  • Provides cost impacts and explain variances for engineering changes. Report this information on regular basis or as needed.
  • Maintains submitted pricing data and historical costing data as required.
  • Perform ad hoc product/plant cost analysis to support the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering. MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years in a cost accounting position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Exposure to manufacturing departments/staff/activities cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
  • Tooling, stamping and die experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
