Job Description

SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management of plant level activities with regards to a program (product) and/or customer base to achieve a flawless launch. This person will act as a plant liaison for Horizon Global customers as it is important for them to establish excellent client relations while still maintaining an excellent working environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning and coordination of the project deliverables with plant and the other Program Managers
  • Schedule all control and PPAP runs with the plant while maintaining any and all schedule adjustments as they arise
  • Reporting project/program status to the rest of the Program Management team on a as needed basis
  • Maintain focus on initiated projects to gain additional benefits for the business area through gaining efficiencies in program (operational, design, purchasing, best practices)
  • To ensure project documents are created, maintained and updated via structure with the understanding that this is a mandatory requirement of all Program Managers. Auditing project docs regularly
  • Always follow Horizon Global management systems and QA routines to successfully achieve complete customer satisfaction
  • Act as the main point of contact at the Reynosa facilities for customer visits
  • Be familiar with the customer requirements (general and product specific)
  • Host/attend program meetings on an as needed basis (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) with customer and internal project teams to ensure Horizon Global is meeting customer requirements
  • Follow up on the main timeline with milestones and project goals while suggesting best practice routines
  • Organize and prioritize time between the management of multiple projects
  • To professionally represent the Program Management department inside and outside the company
  • Maintain strong working relationships with all cross functional teams to deliver timely responses to program needs
  • Drive the schedule to ensure passage of planned gates on time and in line with APQP milestone according to customer expectations
  • Actively report to direct manager and other program manager’s successes, areas for improvement and programs at risk in a timely manner to ensure corrective action.
  • Have a good command of spoken and written language within the region employed and English
  • A high degree of personal integrity and confidence
  • Ability to make quick decisions based on a combination of experience as well as advice from other people
  • Ability to think clearly and react effectively under pressure while remaining focused on key objectives and strategies
  • Work within cross functional teams on a global basis with other Horizon Global sites and groups on aligned projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge and experience of program management processes
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • BS or BA degree with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a program manager in automotive industry or equivalent
