Job Description


  • Plan, coordinate and direct the quality program that is designed to ensure quality control, quality assurance and improvement of the production of products.
  • Oversees department activities to design new procedures, modify existing designs, improve process techniques, and develop test procedures.
  • Maintain corporate, departmental and quality assurance policies and procedures. Recommend new policies/procedures as deemed appropriate. Recommend revisions as appropriate.
  • Responsible for team’s completion of TS16949, ISO and Sarbanes Oxley activities as required.
  • Ensures team leaders are working to resolve problems with solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
  • Educates and assists department managers to maintain appropriate policies, procedures, and documentation to fulfill requirements and regulations.
  • Reviews and directs submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
  • Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
  • Provides direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the quality activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Perform other related duties as directed or deemed appropriate.


  • BS in Engineering, Operations or Quality Systems and a master’s degree in related technical field or business with ten to twelve years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of Accounting software; Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM)/Design for Assembly (DFA); Value Engineering (VE); Design of Experiments (DOE) and Failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA, etc.)
